Efforts being made to make Rajasthan a Medical Hub by improving the health infrastructure along with controlling corona– Health MinisterJaipur, November 14. Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma laid foundation stones and inaugurated NICU, PICU, ICU, Oxygen Generation Plants and Labs at Ajmer, Udaipur and Bikaner Government Medical Colleges and hospitals attached to them on Sunday. The Health Minister said that with these works costing around Rs 44 crore will further strengthen the health infrastructure of hospitals and will help in reducing the threat posed to children in the anticipated third wave of corona.Foundation stone of 140-bedded NICU and 300-bedded PICU costing around Rs 16.72 crore were laid at JLN Medical College in Ajmer, RNT Medical College in Udaipur and SP Medical College in Bikaner. At these medical colleges, 8 oxygen generation plants with a capacity of 1130 cylinders costing approximately Rs 9 crore and two liquid medical oxygen plants with a capacity of 4400 cylinders per day were dedicated to the public. Besides this, 100 ICU beds, 20 NICU beds and a BSL-2 Lab costing around Rs 17.30 crore were also dedicated to the public.In this programme organised virtually from Swasthya Bhawan in Jaipur, Dr Sharma said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot, the State in its health structure has made remarkable progress even in the adverse circumstances of covid period. He said that currently the capacity of conducting around 1.45 lakh RTPCR tests per day has been developed. He expressed confidence in achieving the capacity of 1000 metric tonne oxygen soon.The Health Minister praising Health Secretary Shri Vaibhav Galriya said that the successful strategy of the State Government and Health Department has prevented the corona from getting uncontrolled. Along with this, he hoped that the State would become a new Medical Hub with the construction of a special operation theatre for organ transplant, IPD Tower, New Cardio Wing etc.Minister of the State for Health Dr Subhash Garg said that in the last three years, the way was paved to construct 15 new Medical Colleges. The increase in MBBS and PG seats in Government Sector has made medical education easy for children from poor families. He said that soon medical colleges will be there in 30 districts of the State and Members of Parliaments have been requested to build pressure on the Central Government for approving medical colleges in the remaining 3 districts.Health Secretary Shri Vaibhav Galriya on this occasion said that all possible efforts are being made to deal with the anticipated third wave of corona. Last month the Chief Minister had dedicated 185 oxygen generation plants and 600 NICU-PICU beds to the public. He said that the Health Department is not only making efforts to increase the medical facilities but is also ensuring its quality. Facilities of neonatal care at Mahila and Janana Hospitals in Jaipur are being increased so that it is not required to bring the newborn to JK Lone Hospital.Members of Parliament, Public Representatives, Health Department and Education Department Officers and Principals of the concerned Medical Colleges from the concerned districts were present in the programme.—–
