Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot said the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi must reach to the people to strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, love, harmony and social accord in the country. He said that the State Government is working with dedication to carry the principles of Bapu to our younger generation.Shri Gehlot was addressing a lecture on the topic “Vishwa Ke Gandhi’ and the unveiling of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at the premises of Jhunjhunu district collectorate through video conference on Martyrs’ Day on Sunday.The Chief Minister said that Gandhiji’s principles can show us the right path in the current atmosphere of terrorism, violence, fanaticism and mutual distrust in the world. He said that the youth should certainly read about the freedom struggle of the country, about great leaders such as Gandhiji, Pt. Nehru, Maulana Azad, Sardar Patel, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Dr Ambedkar and their ideals, then only they will know the history and no one can mislead them.  He said that the ideology of Gandhiji is the only effective solution of the problems arising from violence, hatred and terror.Shri Gehlot said that Mahatma Gandhi Sansthan and Gandhi Darshan Museum are being built in Jaipur to carry Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings to the general public. Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Governance and Social Sciences has been set up with an objective that youth by imbibing the teachings of Gandhiji can play a role in governance and social works. Rajasthan is the first State to set up the Directorate of Peace and Non-Violence.The Chief Minister on this occasion dedicated the Sanskrit-Hindi version of Gandhiji’s favourite hymn “Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye’ prepared by Rajasthan Sanskrit Academy and also released quarterly magazine ‘Swarmangala’. Noted Gandhian thinker Late Dr SN Subbarao’s last official lecture on Gandhiji (recorded) was telecast during the programme.Art and Culture Minister Dr BD Kalla, Minister of State for Transport Shri Brijendra Ola, Minister of State for Art and Culture Smt Zahida Khan, Gandhi Shanti Pratishthan New Delhi president Kumar Prashant, Principal Secretary Art and Culture Smt Gayatri Rathore, Jhunjhunu Municipal Council Smt Nagma Bano and Gandhian thinker Dharamveer Kateva too addressed the programme. Director of Peace and Non-Violence Directorate Shri Manish Sharma gave the vote of thanks. Rajasthan Sanskrit Academy Administrator and Divisional Commissioner Shri Dinesh Yadav and Academy Director Shri Sanjay Jhala were present on this occasion. District collectors, a large number of Gandhian thinkers, Gandhi Jeevan Darshan Samiti district and block level coordinators attended the programme through video conference. ———–
